About Us

SimulRide is the Irish's leading car share provider. We connect commuters driving to work with riders going the same direction. This allows to share the costs, whilst reducing congestion and pollution at the same time.

This service is available to anyone over 18. Joining is simple and completely FREE. If you commute to work by car and you want to reduce the cost of travelling, simply register as a driver and create a route. If you are looking for a lift click here, tell us from where to where you will be commuting and choose the most convenient route.

If you are a driver, by sharing your car you can split the cost of your journey and reduce your carbon footprint.

Using SimulRide helps:

SimulRide suggests a calculated contribution of €1 to €2.50 per ride depending on the journey. It is calculated based on the length, duration and cost of the journey.

Currently we only accept cards. You top up your account by any amount you choose. You don't have to top up or enter your card until you want to request a ride.

We use Stripe for the payment process. Stripe is the leading company that most businesses use daily for online payments.

We never save any of your card details. We just do the transaction and we don't keep your card information. Read next answer for more.

No, there isn't. As mentioned in the previous answer, we NEVER save your card details. Every time you want to top up your account, we will ask you for your card details and we make the transaction. Because of that, we will never be able to charge you for things you didn't sign up for.

Of course you can. If the ride is cancelled or any other similar reason, you will get 100% refund. Just contact us as soon as possible at info@simulride.com. Make sure you give us as much detail as possible, as well as your name and email address.

For Drivers

You will get paid weekly. In your control panel you can see all the transactions to your wallet, and once a week we will transfer you the money.

Yes, you can. We will suggest some price between €1.00 and €2.50 depending on the route, but you can set your own price.

The riders will be collected at their specified collection point. This will normally be their home and their office. They will indicate where they want to be collected when they request to join you on your journey. If you don't like where they want you to collect them or dropped them off, you can simply reject their request.

Yes, you can. When a rider requests to join you, they will indicate where to be collected and dropped off. You then can accept them or reject them depending on your preferences.

You can. When you create a route, you can change what days of the week you will be commuting and a what time.

If you get sick and you can't go to work, or any other reason, please contact all the riders joining you that day as soon as possible. After that, contact us (info@simulride.com) as soon as possible so that we can refund the riders.

Once a rider is accepted in your journey, you will be given their phone number. You can use it to contact them in case of an emergency or to discuss arrangements.

For Riders

If you get sick and can't go to work, please contact your driver as soon as possible to let him know. After that, contact us (info@simulride.com) so that we can give you a refund.

SimulRide wants to reduce the number of cars on the road. By doing that, we will reduce noticeably the carbon footprint.

You choose where to get collected. When you request to join a route, you will be asked where to get collected and dropped off. After getting accepted, the driver will collect you where you specifed. The driver may call you to arrange a time.

When you join a route, the driver will have access to your full name. The driver will also have access to your phone number in order to arrange times, or to contact you in case of an emergency.

Of course. Once you get accepted to a route, you will have to individually pick each day you want a lift. You will also specify if you want to get a lift on the way back home.
